Cute items but did not work up the way I wanted

This is one of the cutest pattern books I've purchased for my plastic canvas hobby in a long time. The finished items go into my gift shop, and the customers love them!

These are adorable, but 1)you will need to find OVAL googly eyes & 2) these are not squeeze-ums. You can not make these as is and expect their mouths to open when pinched. I tried to make the mouth opened so it would work this way, but ultimately, it didn't work. It was too small for a Hershey kiss and in order to get mouth to open, you have to squeeze wings together which pinches mouth open, but it's too difficult. I'm going to try to modify these to allow mouths to open one last time before getting rid of the book altogether. I bought them purposely thinking they opened, for a project. But, regardless - they are cute!UPDATE:I found that if you simply have the wings move 5 blocks or so behind the place they are originally, you can make squeeze-ums!!! They are so cute! Love them! Brought back memories of my grandmother in law! Love! You can play with the pattern quite a bit and still have them turn out. The patterns can be a bit intricate, but if you screw up, it's not really noticeable! Pretty easy craft, takes a few hours for me to do one. Perfect for my Christmas tree/surprising my kids with a kiss on the tree!

This book is great they are so qute I used smaller plastic canvas and made them into pins they are even more qute that way. The seller did an awesome job it was here really quick and packaging was done really well . Love my book♡♡♡♡♡.

The Search for God and Guinness by Stephen Mansfield is subtitled as a biography of the beer that changed the world. There is some substance to that, but there is much more to the book than just the story of the beer. Primarily you learn about the Guinness family, beginning in the 18th century with Arthur Guinness and continuing up through the present day. They were a remarkable family with a bright side and a dark side. The Guinnesses were noted for their efforts through the years to improve both living and working conditions for their employees. Social activism was a given for many of the family members through the generations. Then, like everybody else, they had some less successful family members who struggled. Mr. Mansfield covers both sides with an even hand.Religion played an important role in the family. Some family members were ministers, and most were supporters of a church in one form or another. I found it to be particularly interesting that Arthur Guinness was a fan of John Wesley in the early days of Methodism. You can tell from the religion areas of the book that Mr. Mansfield is extremely interested in faith and its impact on public life.The author points out that historians have tended to divide the Guinness family into the brewing Guinnesses, the banking Guinnesses, and the Guinnesses for God. All three groups are covered in the book. Readers of The Search for God and Guinness will learn about the famous beer, the business side of brewing, the great social improvements led by the Guinnesses, and the family itself. All in all, a very interesting book.

A lot of people might read this book expecting some bawdy history of the origins of the world famous Guinness beer, brewery and family. This author isn't known for that, and has made some interesting comments about books he's published in the past elsewhere. I see this book as little bit redemptive - not elevating beer as a drink for riotous living, but a medium for wealthy families to give back to the communities and people of all classes throughout times of strife and times of plenty. A lot of business elites in our current age would do well to adopt the attitudes of the Guinness family regarding providing for their workers, dealing with others and giving back to their communities while being humble in their own spirit. Ironically, beer and Christianity are joined in our Western History the way Jesus and Wine is in the Bible, and Mansfield's writing style makes this an easy, unoffensive read.Stephen Mansfield's next book in his series of 'The Faith of' our presidents should be a greater challenge though.

This book covers the entire family called "Guinness" and all the marvelous things the various family members have engaged, from brewers to ministers, from a worldwide distribution of the product, to the missionary efforts of some of the members of the clan.Impressive are the efforts of the Guinness "company" to meet the needs of society and it's members, including housing, medical care and even cultural opportunities and training for the wives of the workers to be "successful" as women in that society and culture.Memorable Quote: "You cannot make money from people unless you are willing for people to make money from you."

Stephen Mansfield does it again! This is an excellent read about a famous family and their famous brand. Several take-aways from the Guinness story. Do one thing really, really well before you diversify. Invest in your people. Consider all the facts before you act, then act quickly. Think long-term rather than short-term. Always look for God's Providence and follow His will as best you can know it.

In general I enjoy reading business biographys. I personally bought this book to kill some time months ago and never thought I'd give it a good read. Turns out that once I started reading I finished the book and four days. It is a great story of business, and the 'do good spirit' of businesses in history. Also, I am not Guinness beer drinker so i read this not as a 'fan boy' but grew to love the story.

Rem Koolhaas is a Dutch architect, architectural theorist, urbanist, and Professor in the Practice of Architecture and Urban Design at the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University. He has published works on the evolution of the contemporary metropolis and been responsible for landmark urban projects such as the Euralille development in northern France and the CCTV Tower in Beijing, and has designed master plans for, among other places, suburban Paris, the Libyan desert, and Hong Kong.Hal Foster is Professor of Art and Archaeology at Princeton University and a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He is the author of many books, including Design and Crime, Prosthetic Gods, The Art-Architecture Complex, and The First Pop Age. He writes regularly for October (which he co-edits), Artforum, and the London Review of Books. He was the 2013 recipient of the Frank Jewett Mather Award for Art Criticism. He lives in Princeton.

Book was in excellent condition.

I can't recommend this highly enough, it is totally stimulating, aggravating, prods you with a stick. It's a head case read, a high-speed injection of provocation, which is exactly what is required of Koolhaas. He occupies that contradictory realm of celebrity starchitect and acute, erudite cultural commentator at one and the same time. Love it. I have been left with a multitude of contradictory thoughts, but nothing good can come any other way, I expect. Think, rethink, smash it up, start again. But better. Ecologically sound. Human space.`If there is a limit to Junkspace, it is likely to be one that is ecological before it is political.'-The disaster of disasters is that for all the neo-libralism what is most notable in modern times are the shopping malls that now litter the globe. There are no pyramids being built, perhaps too few buildings to take genuine pride in; and it seems we now have starchitects in place of master craftsmen. My favourite line: `like a crab on LSD, culture staggers endlessly sideways' Rem Koolhaas - If you fancy a fictional companion - I also highly recommend 'Perfect Architect' by Jayne Joso, thoughtful human living spaces emerge- illustrations of these also.
