If you don’t know anything about this book, you’ll want to check out the Nerdy Nummies YouTube channel, where she has videos of how to make all of these recipes. The cookbook is simply another convenient format for people that want fast access to some of her more popular recipes.INTO:Nerdy Nummies is the first book created by 'Ro' off of the youtube channel Nerdy Nummies where she makes nerdy style things to eat or drink like from video games, or outer space. Her show has even featured the past CEO of Nintendo and Neil deGrasse Tyson, which is pretty fun.THE SECOTIONS:-To start, there’s a list of everything you may end up needing. You should probably just get these as needed.-Immediately after that there is a basics section where Ro shows how she makes most of the basic desserts. The 3 I’ve made so far have been phenomenal, (brownies, chocolate cake, pound cake). You do want to make sure you’re using quality ingredients for things like flour and coco, you’ll taste them in the end. This section makes the book worth it, it’s so hard to find a cook book that consistently has good recipes if you don’t have a good recommendation.-After this she gets into more complicated recipes in a few sections such as Math and Science, and Fantasy desserts. These can go from mixing a few ingredients to a bit complicated so chose wisely.-The final sections are things like acknowledgments, conversion charts, resource guide, cutout templates, and an Index. The final page is a bit about the author.MY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS BOOK-My experience has been very positive, as I mentioned before the basics are really incredible and I’m excited to create dessert style monuments for games and other things I like. I bought the book because I like the Youtube channel and want faster access to the recipes, but surprisingly so far my favorite part of the book has been the basic recipes.

Very cute book, awesome ideas. Be careful when you bake the chocolate chip cookies, there is a misprint. Ours came out VERY salty and after watching Ro's video, we realized the book calls for salted butter and 2 teaspoons baking soda (it should be 1 teaspoon according to the video and the butter was not specified so maybe try unsalted butter).

I ordered this for my 12 year old daughter and she cried tears of joy when it came! This book is AMAZING!!! Rosanna Pansino you have knocked this out of the park! My daughter is also a visual learning and this book has so many great step by step photographs! Every Recipe has 6 photographs. There are templates, a list of all the tools you need, and it's easy to read. You will NOT be disappointed, as my daughter said she could look at this book for hours and we can't wait to try out the lava cake for her 12th birthday! We are looking forward to having her book signed at the event hear in Orlando next week. Thank you for encouraging my daughter to keep baking! One happy Mommy here!

My 12 year old sister loves to watch Nerdy Nummies on YouTube all the time. She got me hooked, and most of the time, I put off studying for my college lectures to watch Ro bake! This will be her Christmas present, and cannot wait! There are some really sweet recipes in this cookbook and anyone of any skill level can bake them! This is a fantastic and well done cookbook Ro! You have outdone yourself! Anyone who loves to bake or just loves Nerdy Nummies, this cookbook is for you! What are you waiting for? Go buy it!!

This book is absolutely beautiful. It has very nice and high quality full color pages, is easy to follow along with, well laid out, and sturdy.The decorating ideas in it are adorable and there are very nice photos of the different steps to give readers a good visual aid to help them recreate the recipes at hand. It also has QR codes to scan with your phone for easy access to templates for recipies! Never fear though, if you lack a smart phone it does have templates in the back to use as well, you'll just need to scan them rather than print them!I'm absolutely pleased with my purchase and would reccomend it to any of my friends!

I bought this for my 10 year old daughter. She loves it! It's everything my nerd child could ask for. As a matter of fact, she made the hamburger cupcakes for a family reunion and everyone adored them. I love how seeing her become so involved with baking and decorating.Side note: Many of the recipes can be substituted for premade box mix if your short on time or ingredients. That's what we did with the cupcakes.

Love, love, LOVE this cookbook. The pictures are fun and vibrant, the recipes are adorable, and the everything is laid out very well in an easy-to-follow format. To be perfectly honest, my girlfriend and I will probably never make anything found in this book ourselves, but it's handy for when her niece comes over to visit us. It also makes a fabulous gift for anyone with a little "nerd" in their soul. My girlfriend's niece introduced us to Rosanna Pansino's YouTube channel, and we just think it's the cutest thing we've ever seen. Very fun and very well done!

the projects there are nice and there are some creative decorating ideas. however you should not treat this like a traditional cook book. the recipes as followed are wrong. one of them had 1/2 the quantity of an ingredient completely wrong. there are no tips on how to do some of the frosting work. exe the comic book cookies. no tips on making some of the harder frosting decorations, kept braking. the macarons recipe as followed was a flop. had to youtube a recipe and found it was vastly different. and the youtube recipe came out great. so if you pick this up, it's a very good IDEA book.

I have one of these posters which cost twice as much as the entire book of them and I think this is a lovely book and a lovely gift item for any woman on your list, young or old. Must love color!!!

Several years ago, I was in a Mardi Gras-themed restaurant and I fell in love with the wall posters plastered all over the walls. In my attempt to hunt down one of the posters, I discovered Andrea Mistretta. I can't even remember the poster I had originally been looking for, I was so smitten!I love Andrea Mistretta's art. Her Mardi Gras posters are beyond beautiful. Even though I have no ties to New Orleans and have never attended Mardi Gras, Ms. Mistretta's vibrant, detailed posters appeal to me on many levels and make me want to visit NOW!

LOVED MY BOOK ON MARDI GRAS

Mistretta does an amazing job of capturing the spirit, excitement and color of the annual Mardi Gras celebration in New Orleans. Each poster from the Mardi Gras series depicted in this book features an array of Mardi Gras symbolism incorporated into the poster's design. This book provides a wonderful way to experience the vibrant color of the annual Mardi Gras celebration without every leaving your easy chair. Also included is a chapter in which the artist/author demonstrates the painstaking technique she uses to create each of Mardi Gras posters, enabling the reader to appreciate them even more. This is an art book to cherish and enjoy again and again, year after year.

Vibrant, dazzling, impressive . . . anyone who even looks at the cover of this book will be instantly wowed by what they see and even more so when they open the covers. Andrea Mistretta, like many artists, had a wealth of talent, but her pocketbook was rather bare. She knew the poster market in New Orleans was growing and perhaps someone might be interested in her painting, "Mercredi des Cendres." It had been a labor of love and she "penciled, painted, airbrushed, mixing techniques" and added special touches to her heart's content. The surreal product was one that captured the essence of the Mardi Gras, but a young struggling illustrator "a thousand miles away" from the enchanting art world of New Orleans had little chance of succeeding.Andrea sent a Polaroid with her friend, Karen. Perhaps she could sell the painting for her, but instead received an unexpected call from Miss Margarita Bergen, proprietress of Bergen Galleries. "Dahling, I would like to do a Mardi Gras poster with you." This unexpected turn of events would bring her fame and, au contraire, the magic of her artwork would bring New Orleans alive on her posters. The nineteen eighties were kind to both the city and Andrea Mistretta. The spirit of the city was captured in these posters, so beautifully reproduced in this book. In this book the reader gets a fascinating look into her technique and can actually see the step-by-step creation of the king and queen of the krewes. In addition to the full color posters there are reproductions of the three black and white series posters. You'll also get to see some "playful artwork," advertising posters (Miller, Heineken and Amstel), The Serigraph, and reproductions of the United States Postal Service stamps.This is one of those rare books that will WOW you from the first page to the last. I've seldom seen a book with such liberal use of color. Each and every one of them could be easily framed and hung on a wall. Andrea briefly discusses the history behind each poster. The name of the poster, the technique, size and date are included. We get a glimpse in some of these of Andrea herself and her affinity with New Orleans and her life in general. I especially enjoyed reading about her poster "Band of Angels," and the comment she made that "it was truly celestial beings that led me and allowed my spirit to ascend beyond this poster with a very special project." However, Coleman Barks, a retired professor of english and poetry at the University of Georgia has done an exceptional job of translating this collection of Rumi's poems. But Bark's translation of Rumi's poetry is not all that makes this collection exceptional. It is Bark's commentaries on the poems that opens each chapter. The commentaries explain Rumi's relationship with his friend and mentor Shams of Tabriz, speaks of the times in which Rumi lives and explains the poems in each chapter in a thoroughly understandable way. Bark's commentaries are delightful and engaging and the reader can feel his voice jump off the page. I wholeheartedly recommend "The Soul of Rumi" to readers who would like to gain a clearer and deeper meaning of Rumi's poetry and vision, and translator Coleman Barks offers up this clearer and deeper meaning in an interesting and efficient way. .

I've never come away from a Rumi reading with the same frame of reference...and that's a good thing.

I am confused about this book! I read "The Essential Rumi", Translations by Coleman Barks (New Expanded Edition) with such relish, I grieved when the book ended, and started reading it again from page 1 (see my review of this book). Wanting even more of Coleman Barks' "Rumi", I ordered this "The Soul of Rumi".I don't understand why the two books are so different in tone and rhythm! It's almost as though each book has a different translator/poet. In this "Soul" book, Barks seems to have lost his song. I just can't hear the rhythm. He breaks up all the verses into segments of monotonous two-line-one-space text that seem to trip and stumble. I can't get into this book. What happened to the music? What a great disappointment from "The Essential Rumi". Maybe it's just me, wrong to expect the same brilliance from the same translator/poet.

the way coleman barks collaborates with rumi and the original english translators makes rumi come alive in me, and i’ve loved his translation-collaborations for over 20 years. you’ve done it again, coleman! you are a gift as you give this gift. thank you.

Thanks to a friend I bought this book. I love the chapter introductions and the shear volume of material.

Definitely an interesting read.
