I am a school librarian for grades 3-8 and this book is a big hit every year with the students who love video games.

My son is a huge fan of this edition. We found a 2013 version at the thrift store earlier 2018 and he fell in love with it because it highlight some of his favorite characters. I surprised him with the 2019 edition and he is on cloud nine. It's a pretty informative and colorful text. I recommend it!

I bought this book for my 13-year-old grand nephew and read it before wrapping it for a Christmas present. The pictures and information are really--forgive me for saying this--cool! It's a gamers collectible! Bright, glossy, informative, and just plain fun to read.

I bought this for my 10 year old son and he loves it. He brought it to school everyday for a week as his "free time" reading book. He would always come home and tell me all the cool records he read about. It has very current games in it and lots of info.

 I have a couple of coloring books which include dance scenes in them so I thought I would enjoy this book. I also like intricate designs so I was not concerned about small elements and tiny spots to color.What I wasn't prepared for was just how busy this coloring book would be in reality. Every portion of the design, except for any part of a person where flesh is showing (e.g., face, arm, hands, legs) is filled with either ovals or triangles. It is so busy that it is difficult to figure out where something starts and something else begins.The lines that are outlines are somewhat bolder than the doodle designs but I still found it difficult to decipher initially. Once I got into coloring the design, I was able to figure things out. In addition to the multitude of doodles, there are little bits and pieces of surprise elements hidden in the designs. That made it a bit more fun but not as much as many of my other coloring books.What I really liked about the coloring book was the diversity of dances that are shown in it. There are modern dance, ball room dance, street dance, and many types of cultural dances as well.This is what I experienced while coloring in this book and testing my coloring medium on the paper. In the comments section below, I will list the coloring medium I used to test this book and which I use for coloring most of my projects.31 Extremely Intricate Dance DesignsPrinted on one side of the pagePaper is standard for Creative Haven: medium weight, white, lightly rough and perforatedGlue bound but pages can be removed easily at perforationsDesigns stop before the perforationsAlcohol and water based markers bleed through to some degreeGel pens and India ink pens leave shadows of color on the back of the pageI suggest using a blotter page below your working page or removing pages before coloring. Card stock or several sheets of heavy weight paper works well.Coloring pencils work well with this paper. Both wax and oil based pencils lay down good color, layer and blend well. Hard lead pencils leave dents on the back of the page.

I LOVE this little book! Best buy of the year for myself! Very informative, gives great descriptions and pictures are clear and vivid. Recommend this book to all rockhounds!

Great little book, very nice pictures and a good key at the front to help identify specimens. Note the use of the word "little", it's only about half the size of a normal paperback, I didn't even notice it when it came in a box with something else, but that makes it small enough to easily fit in a jacket pocket to take on hikes, it's not a drawback. Good little book.

This is a great little book. Just like the botany plant ID books, but for rocks & minerals. Makes going out hiking and camping with the kids even more fun and sometimes exciting, on the cheap. Things they find themselves and may be special, with just a little research on the parent's part to pick a likely place for successful rock-hounding. What's not to love!?!

I got this for my girlfriend that has an interest in geology. She loves this book and the detail it provides! We plan on using it to become local rock hounds!

The book shows some of the specimen in a natural state, unpolished, which is helpful in rock hounding.

I'm sad because this book didn't have that and I would've love to have seen some before and after pictures of Whitney and her weight loss, although she does have a few on the back inside cover.I would recommend this book to anyone, even adults, if they need a jolt of inspiration and cheering on for getting healthy and losing weight and also pursuing their dreams.I read this book in a matter of a few days but will definitely read it again and will refer to it very often!!:)

Since my school district has refused to buy any new textbooks since 2000, I buy up cheap copies to keep in my classroom. By the way, even though the text was published in 2000, the content is from 1996. My students love to laugh at the fashions and "celebrities" mentioned in the book. Oh, and don't forget the chapter on technology. Can you say "fax machine" in Spanish? My students can.

I am a high school Spanish teacher. Since my high school refuses to buy new textbooks, we are still using these out-of-print texts originally published in 1996. I buy them when I find them cheap on Amazon. I'm trying to build a class set with my own money, so I look for really a cheap price.

I am very happy with this purchase. The book was in excellent condition. I just wish I had the answers key.

I have been using the textbook to tutor. This is a great supplement for the book. Lots of great exercises and practice. They even have a tutorial above many sections so that kids can have an idea of what they are conjugating.

We use this curriculum for Spanish in our homeschool and it is extremelyeasy to learn from. We used Rosetta Stone first before we learned aboutthis curriculum and Rosetta Stone was a good foundational tool as well.We would highly recommend this curriculum for learning Spanish 1 and 2.

My experience with them has always been that once I put them down, I am again faced with the same humdrum daily 'existence' of house, work, tromping about in that same old body, etc; 'physical reality' reasserts itself, and it's easy to feel that those deeply felt Truths I read just the other day were nothing but dreams, and 'this' is 'reality'.Herein, you will be confronted with the limits of 'physical reality' in a way that you cannot avoid through the usual 'logic' of the modern mind. This is the result of SCIENCE, not speculation. Flip the switch, the light turns on. Push that lever, and the toilet flushes.Doctor Lanza is a research scientist in biology. Yet somehow from his youth he has maintained the ability to ask the Large Questions.In this book, he has lain out a framework for answering them, based upon scientifically-derived reality, rather than just another 'spiritual perspective'.I suppose by now you've seen at least one or two quotes about how amazing and bizarre the apparent implications of quantum physics are - Well, this drills down on them, and lays out the startling implications quite clearly.For me, the small cost of the book was easily justified by one chapter alone, where he talks about those experiments with particles going through two slits... Well, I thought I had 'heard about it', too, along with some over-enthusiastic interpretations (- as I thought at the time).He describes in sufficient (though not horribly technical) detail how those experiments were laid out, and what they showed. They showed MUCH more than just wave/particle duality!!He lays out an implied world-view that is as radically different from our current standard as one can imagine, and does so in an ineluctably logical fashion.Have a look in here, and get a real glimpse. It did me.Thank you, Robert Lanza and Bob Berman, for bringing us 'happy few' into a truly New Paradigm.As you point out, it will probably take our society many long years before this becomes as well understood as the basic mechanics of Newton, but now we have truly begun.It's like that opening scene in "2001...".

I am currently reading the author's follow-up book to "Biocentrism"..."Beyond Biocentrism"...which has not yet been released to the public. So let me say that if you are not at all familiar with the weird world of quantum physics, I think you would be best off waiting a few weeks for the release of the author's 2nd book, "Beyond Biocentrism," and reading that book first. The author spends more time describing quantum weirdness in plain English in his second book than he does in the first book.If you already know a little bit about the quantum world...(you don't need to know a lot,) you will enjoy "Biocentrism." The author has a wonderful sense of humor which adds spice to the science. In fact one of the funniest things I have read in a long time is in this book. It has to do with the Ishihara Color Test. It completely cracked me up.There are a lot of books out there now related to this subject matter, and many of them are not worth your time...just authors cashing in on the latest theory of everything. But I am careful about choosing books. And Robert Lanza is a highly respected scientist specializing in the field of stem cell research, so I trust this guy. And Lanza is also quite frank in stating that much of his thinking on this subject is pure theory...not to be confused with scientific fact.The subject matter is not exactly new, but new ideas sometimes need to hang out there in the realm of possibilities for a while before they gather momentum. I remember first hearing about the beginnings of this theory from the writings of David Bohm, winner of the Nobel Prize in physics back in the 1970s; and here it is about fifty years later and it is beginning to catch intellectual fire. If you are willing to keep an open mind, "Biocentrism" will give you lots to think about. Like ... what happens when we die? Does our consciousness stop, or does it just keep going on? Enjoy.
